The Sharp MFP maintains it’s own internal logs. These can sometimes be useful in diagnosing problems with the Sharp MFPs.
Please only collect this information if requested by support.
Enable syslogs on the Sharp MFP: Using a web browser connect to the Sharp at: http://yourdevice/service_testpage.html
Login as the “service” user. The default password is “service”
Select the “Syslog” menu from the left menu.
Verify that the “Syslog” is enabled. If it is disabled, enable it and press “Submit”.
Downloading the Sharp syslog files: Once the problem you are investigating is replicated, you can download the Sharp syslog as follows:
Using a web browser connect to the Sharp at: http://yourdevice/service_testpage.html
Login as the “service” user. The default password is “service”
Select the “Syslog→Save/Delete Syslog” item from the left menu.
Press the “Save” button and save the file locally.
Zip up the file and send it to PaperCut along with the description and details of the problem (e.g. date/time, user, document name, error info, etc).
