Most organisations don’t use PaperCut to “charge” their users. In an Educational organisation, PaperCut is more often used to restrict users to a sensible quot, let’s say $5.00 a week. In a Business, PaperCut can be installed in a “silent logging” mode (see Print Logging), enabling the tracking of statistics. With PaperCut’s logging however, (see PaperCut Statistics) it’s possible to track who prints the most, how much each departments prints, and which printers are the most used and a multitude of other fancy stuff!
For this reason (amongst others), some organisations like to remove the currency symbols from the PaperCut Client and Web Interfaces.
Login to the PaperCut Admin Interface with a PaperCut Administrator Account. Click on the Options tab. Scroll down until you find the Display Options section and once here un-tick the Display Currency Sign checkbox. Finally, scroll to the very button of the Options page and smack that Apply button.
