‘ditto: can’t get real path for source’ Error when running macOS client. We’ve seen this error happen occasionally on macOS when installing the User Client.
e.g. ditto: can’t get real path for source ‘/private/var/folders/dm/cfhh5brd4s76tfbh_sbj67m00000gr/T/AppTranslocation/04BD8C79-DE8B-4036-9CD6-EE2DA161F7A8/d/client-local-install.app//../PCClient.app’
This sometimes happens if you try to run the PaperCut Client from somewhere other than the Applications folder, like a file share or the downloads folder.
The quick fix is to make sure that the app is copied to the Applications folder before it is run.
