Users in PaperCut have a balance that can be used to track their printing cost expenditure, as well as to implement limits or quotas on printing. Organizations implementing quotas may also wish to accept user payments, allowing users to pay for their own printing once their free quota is expended. By default this paid amount is added to the same balance “bucket”, i.e. users have one single balance that quota and paid amounts are added into. This is the simplest approach, but some organizations may wish to separate the amounts for reporting and auditing purposes.
The multiple personal accounts feature in PaperCut allows each user to have separate balances/buckets/purses for this purpose. The user manual chapter Multiple Personal Accounts covers the feature in detail including how to implement separate balances for quotas and paid amounts.
